No Boundary, No Limit
Written and transcribed by Terry Grant.
This is a continuation of the message I have edited and transcribed from Ishvara's New Year's talk of January 1. - TG.
Ishvara:
I see this coming year as full of excitement. There are lots of possibilities coming into view. Last year gave me the opportunity to work on the physical body: it was pretty temperamental and pretty contrary at times; things hurt and ached everywhere. I sometimes felt like an old man had taken over my life, not that being old is a bad thing, but I was not there yet. I knew this was just more transformation and a possibility to exemplify what this awareness-that-I-am can do.
By the end of 2005, I see how my unwavering commitment to Life had again carried me through a difficult time. My knowing is that the physical body is IT, a purposeful expression of Life. This is not a casual kind of knowing. It is a very intense relationship with truth. In that kind of intense, real relationship, one expects things to take place. One expects commitment. One expects that there will be awareness, caring, concern, and inspiration. That is the kind of truth I am after: the truth that uplifts, reveals, encourages, and inspires, the truth that really sets one free.
This truth I cannot find in books. I cannot find it in past teachings or teachers. I find, in part, inspiration from the past, but not the truth, because in this realization I see that truth is a synergy of possibilities of the moment, and this always transcends any past moment. The truth in this moment is greater than the truth of yesterday, or even the truth of a few moments ago. The truth is an evolving, synergistic, exploding experience. As I think about that, I tend to get excited, because there really is no limit, no boundary. I think this is what we will focus on for the year: no boundary, no limit.
It can seem formidable to contemplate the physical body when so much of the world, so much of spiritual teachings are in denial, in resistance, trying to escape. If so much of humanity were not trying to escape, there would be no drugs or addictions. But, because humans perceive such need to escape, these things all have their place. They are called into being because of the need to escape.
Religions, spiritual disciplines, spiritual beliefs and concepts are the greatest addictive escapes on the planet. Like it or not, they are just other escapes. They are based on the notion that "This isn't it." Life is always saying, "This is It. Get over yourself, and make do with it. Make it happen."
You have the ability to know this too! What I call Feeling Knowing is possible for all of humanity. The human brain is evolving this kind of connection. Everybody has a bit of it. Very few people know what to make of it. Part of this work is to reveal to others how to use this ability. It is as if humanity has received a wonderful gift, the gift of connection, and with this gift there were no instructions. The gift was just there. Your brain has it, but there are no instructions, and with good reason, because there can be none. The "instruction" comes from the direct experience of using it.
This physical existence has been subject to disease, aging, and emotional and physical problems. The body is constantly being bombarded with consensus reality. There really has been no time for the brain to access this awareness; the intellect says, "You cannot touch it." That is wrong. You can touch this! I see that it is now time. It is time for you to make contact.
To make contact involves accepting your uniqueness, your individuality, and in that sense your separateness, while not losing the connections with the rest of Life. There has been so much misunderstanding of Life-as-it-is. People think, "Well this isn't it; this existence is just a school where we are learning. This is trial by fire, and if we succeed, we will get to go to some better place, or come back to a better life, or... or..." But Life says, "This IS it." There is no escape. There is no getting around it. This is the step the new human is taking now, and this physical existence was never meant to be seen as a limitation.
You are a laboratory, a place of experiment. You are experimenting with flesh to see how far you can push it, how much you can go beyond consensus reality, beliefs and concepts. This is hard, sometimes seemingly impossible work. To pursue it, you need something to inspire you. So we talk about "the new species," "the new human," "embracing The New Consciousness." The New Consciousness is the connected awareness of all Life, no longer myopic in terms of being limited to "earth" intelligence, no longer divisive in thinking that the earth is all by itself in the midst of an otherwise inert universe. There IS nothing else in the universe except Life. Just Life. The meager mind, the intellect, cannot begin to grasp the possibilities of Life. The intellect is so myopic, so stuck in the rut of survival, that it just cannot comprehend that there could be anything more.
This message is part 2 of 4 parts. It will continue with "A Place Of Absolute Knowing," part 3 of 4; and conclude with "The Possibility Is Here," part 4 of 4. It began with "To Be Committed To This Truth," part 1 of 4.
